Eileen Templin, LCSW, RYT

Eileen Templin is a psychotherapist and coach with over 25 years of counseling, training and teaching experience.  She is a licensed clinical social worker and a board certified diplomat in clinical social work specializing in MindBody psychotherapy for individuals and couples.  Her areas of focus include the treatment of anxiety and depression, stress-related conditions, loss and grief, life transitions, authentic self-expression, conscious relationship and conscious, heart-centered living.

She brings to her work a holistic perspective combining a graduate degree in clinical social work and counseling experience with 20 years experience practicing meditation and studying the integration of mind, body and spirit in psycho-spiritual healing and growth.  She is a Himalayan Institute certified yoga instructor registered with the Yoga Alliance who also teaches asana, pranayama and meditation.

Eileen’s eclectic approach draws from psychodynamic, Jungian and energy psychology; bodily-focused psychotherapy and the mystical traditions of the east and west, including yoga-based therapy.  She has training in Mindfulness, Healing Touch, Somatic Focusing, Hypnotherapy and extensive experience in altered states of consciousness through Holotropic and Integrative Breathwork.

As a coach, she incorporates her training and life experience in a psycho-educational process that provides tools and techniques, as well as, offers guidelines and support for attaining one’s goals and desires. Coaching promotes therapeutic self-care and is very empowering.  This holistic approach addresses mind, emotion, body and spirit and provides state of the art techniques drawn from the fields of Energy Psychology, Cellular Biology, Neuro-Cardiology, Quantum Physics and Yoga.  Many of these techniques are simple and quick and can be fit into busy schedules.

With B.A. degrees in both Social Work and Religious Studies from Penn State, Eileen has had a diverse professional life.  She started her social work career in Public Assistance and then Child Welfare positions.  After attaining her MSW degree from Barry University, she worked in the addictions field providing counseling in both residential and out-patient treatment settings.

She then went on to teach as an Assistant Professor in the Social Work department of Lebanon Valley College where she also oversaw the social work internship program and was an academic advisor to social work majors.  Missing the counseling field, Eileen left teaching and accepted the position of Employee Assistance Program counselor for the Broward County School Board.  In this position she provided counseling and referral services to employees and presented stress management and wellness seminars to staff throughout the District.  After eight years as an EAP, Eileen went into private practice as a psychotherapist which she has done for the past ten years. 

Eileen and her husband, Steve moved to Lakeland this past year and have joined the staff of  Natural Medicine Center of Lakeland.
