Exercise

Exercise cannot be excluded in the prescription for health. It has been shown that exercise alone can benefit the body, especially when we consider the human body has been designed to move, stretch, and run. Studies have shown that eating a good diet alone with no exercise will not reduce weight nor keep the body healthy. On the other hand, eating the wrong foods and exercising daily has more health benefits than just diet alone.

The benefits of exercise and moderate physical activity as opposed to a sedentary lifestyle include: Lower cancer rates, and better immune function, less depression and anxiety, more relaxation, better self image and attitude about the body, stronger bones, more restful sleep and higher self esteem.

There are various types of exercises to choose from and one form that is especially designed to get the results you need. Find one that appeals to you and give it a try for several months. Find a friend to join you. Establishing new habits takes a few weeks and persistence helps to create a pattern for change. Having a friend also helps motivate you and keeps you accountable.

Walking is a great exercise. All you need is a good pair of walking shoes. Starting out for 10 minutes a day for a week and building up for longer periods gradually conditions your body and relieves some of the strain that accompanies trying to run a marathon in one day. Go slow, be persistent. Tai chi and yoga are good forms of gentle exercise that help in breathing and stretching.

Both of these forms of exercise are great in reducing stress and balancing out the body. A rebounder is also a fun way to exercise and move the circulation and lymph of the body at the same time. The rebounder also cushions the jolt that one would get without the bounce. What ever form of exercise you choose rest assured you are doing your body a great service, and it won’t be long before you will see results.
