Cancer Prevention

Cancer prevention is something we all consider as we improve our lifestyle choices and seek healthier ways to screen for cancer. Thermography is a safe, non-invasive say to screen for breast cancer. It does not utilize x-rays and there is no compression of breast tissue. In addition it has the ability to visualize the whole breast and surrounding tissue and lymph structures, which is often missing in standard mammograms.

Thermography focuses on determining patterns within the breast as well as symmetry of these patterns. When a suspicious breast scan is reported, steps are taken to refer the client for further medical follow-up as well as providing education on diet, supplementation and lifestyle.

If a portion of a cell’s DNA becomes damaged, the cell can become abnormal. When the abnormal cell divides, it forms new cells that contain a photocopy of the damaged genetic material. It is not known exactly what causes the cell damage that initiates the cancer process. The chain of events that leads to cancer is very complex, and each individual body reacts differently. There are more than 100 different types of cancer with different causes, different symptoms, and various degrees of aggressiveness.

According to the American Cancer Society, 50% of all men and 33% of all women in the United States will develop some form of cancer at some point in their lives. The good news is that with increasing information and treatment methods available today, millions of people are either living with or have been cured of cancer. Adopting a healthy lifestyle can reduce the risk of developing most types of cancer.
