Children’s Allergies
Children’s Allergies often manifest as digestive disorders and may often go undiagnosed unless there is a severe reaction to a specific allergen. More research is being undertaken to look at the association between food allergy and behavior disorders, especially in the conditions ADD and Autism.
If the body is not able to utilize the nutrients necessary for manufacture of neurotransmitters and cell repair due to due to allergies, it puts a great stress on the immune system. It is understood that individuals with low blood sugar and imbalances in nutrients have difficulty in cognitive thinking and behavior. Often times they may feel sluggish and out of touch. On the other hand too much stimulation with sugar and simple carbohydrates creates a hyperactive state and concentration is limited.
Children’s bath products, plastics, food additives, and refined sugar all contribute to children’s risk of developing allergies. Reading labels and choosing healthy, organic foods when possible will help in reducing exposure to these allergens. A family history of allergies also places children of these parents in a higher category for developing allergies.
