Stress-related Conditions
We now know the toll that stress can take on physical health, emotional well-being, vitality, productivity and creativity. The stress reaction is a complex mind/body response involving multiple systems, such as the neurological, endocrine and immune systems, among others.
We also know that symptom relief through medication, while sometimes necessary, does not address the root causes of stress and the underlying imbalances that make us vulnerable to the effects of stress.
Fortunately, there is much that can be done to resolve stress and its effects and to restore balance to body and mind. Supportive therapy provides insight into the limitations of current coping strategies and facilitation of additional and more effective coping abilities.
The counseling process is designed to reset the circuitry that supports the body’s self-regulatory and self-healing capacities.
