Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese term meaning universal life force. It is also a hands-on healing modality whereby the practitioner transfers the universal life energy to the client through the hands in order to facilitate the client’s self-healing. Reiki is a holistic, natural method of hands -on healing that assists the healing of body, mind and spirit. Reiki practitioners receive attunements as part of their initiation and training. There are three levels of training with the highest being Reiki Master in which the Reiki practitioner initiates and teaches others the symbols and sounds of this ancient healing technique.
Because one part of the body is related to another, Reiki is often performed as a full body technique. The primary benefit of Reiki is a relaxation response and a sense of well-being. Tense, tired muscles relax and the mind becomes quiet allowing the person to heal on various levels. Reiki can be used to enhance other modalities or as a stand-alone procedure.
